Inviting!
Wedding invitations used to be so formal and boring. The traditional format I recall was just a beautiful white or cream embossed card with gold or silver lettering. Some people till opt for that timeless kind of elegance, but like all other forms of cards & stationery these days, there are some really cool and funky designs available that could better reflect your personality.
Apart for the great DIY options – with cute bits and pieces to decorate with – available from outlets like Cristina Re in Melbourne, there’s various online suppliers as well.
Some couples like to do it all from scratch by themselves with their own computer software. Especially those creative types out there who have done a graphic design course and are brimming with artistic ideas! DIY is a change for the better because back in the old days, before the home computer that heralded all sorts of desk top publishing options, you only had a limited choice between templates and I think it was all very dull!
It’s fun to see what people come up with these days and can say a lot about the couple.
Check out some really interesting options that we like:
Hope you find something that sums up your style!
Kirstie :)
Flower Power!

Far Left: Amnesia Columbian roses & Irish strawberry, Top Middle: kale & gardenias, Bottom middle: posy lissianthus sweet peas & dusty miller, Far Left: cattleya orchids, posy lissianthus, green goddess and zamia leaves.
All power to the flower! It’s one of the most beautiful parts of the wedding day – stunning fresh flowers – in the special colours that you’ve chosen. The flowers often make or reflect the theme you’ve chosen, gorgeously complementing any other colours in your bridesmaid outfits or your groom’s shirt and tie. There are so many exquisite choices these days!
Flower arranging has become so interesting and a lot of people choose both unusual plant stuffs to include with the flowers and atypical colour palettes. I am a big fan of a big beautiful coloured satin ribbon that brings it all together and makes it look so pretty, girlie and bridal.
I also love the traditional bouquets with roses or lilies (so elegant) but also the rustic, native touches or soft antique-like pastel shades. There is so much to choose from. Clever contemporary florists can make such amazing combinations work. Our inspirational bouquets pictured above are from Mandalay Flowers in Double Bay, Sydney and there are so many artistic and skillful florists everywhere these days.
Like they do in your own home flowers can make the atmosphere divine, filled with fragrance and ambience. They really make the table and surrounds attractive and fresh whether they are delicate, decorative and charming or amazing statement centrepieces.
It’s such an essential part of the wedding day so enjoy the intoxicating scents and the search for your bouquet and decorative arrangements.
Kirstie
